Our insanely fast-growing greater Detroit-area technology client is in need of an experienced Data Warehouse Analyst to join its rapidly expanding team. The successful Data Warehouse Analyst will with directly business units in order to document the systems and processes currently and to-be used for the company s data warehouse. The goals of this role include helping to build definitions and fact tables, run books and data dictionaries in living form in keeping with constantly changing business needs

Job Responsibilities:
  • Document ETL tasks for migrating data from a source system to a target destination system in conjunction with Data Warehouse Developers.
  • Gather requirements, business process and documentation from business SMEs for building fact tables, developing logical and physical data models, and help to define database standards.
  • Identify, understand, and map key business metrics and how those lead to or represent success
  • Work with internal Project Managers to downstream escalations, priorities, and upcoming builds/needs.
  • Perform analysis on new and existing systems - identify areas of opportunity or redundancy.
  • Develop subject matter expertise of business processes and applications to be a more effective partner.
  • Drive consistency in definitions, write dictionaries, and run books and build out fact tables.
  • Serve as source of truth for training and internal education on all data warehouse tasks, processes outputs, and structures.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Data Warehouse, star schema, and fact/dimension data model.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical business groups - including the ability to translate business process/requirements into technical terms.
  • Strong time management.
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture relationships across several business units to include technical and non-technical folks alike.
  • Expertise in documenting business processes.
  • Expert in identifying success metrics and understanding their impacts.
  • Experience with triaging problems under pressure and determining root cause to drive resolution.
  • Experience preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
